What’s new in Méribel this season?

07 December 2023

Every season Méribel’s resort team finds new ways to enhance the visitor experience. With the winter season fast approaching, we thought we’d share what they’ve got up their sleeves for you.

The Elements Park gets a makeover

Meribel is renowned for its huge variety of pistes, parks and backcountry routes that cater for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.

Returning guests will remember The Elements Park as a snowpark that everyone can enjoy, and the resort team have promised an expansion of this theme with their newly christened Bump’n’Jump zone!

Rumour has it the ”zone” will feature three new runs with kickers, boxes and obstacles of all sizes, each designed to ignite the freestyle skier or boarder within you, whatever your ability.

This is the perfect place to head if you want to test yourself after a few days of finding your feet on the skis again.

Hang out at Méribel-Mottaret’s newest lunch spot

After an intense morning on the slopes, choosing where you stop for lunch is one of the most hotly debated decisions of the day.

Cabane du Lac above Meribel-Mottaret has a well-earned reputation as one of Méribel top picnic spots!

This year they’ve revamped the outdoor area, installing a giant hammock where you can really kick back and take in the beautiful mountain scenery that makes Méribel so special.

Experience the best seat in the house

Mont Vallon is the highest spot in Méribel that’s accessible by gondola. If you’re searching for that perfect vista for your holiday profile pic, you’ll be pleased to know the resort team has installed a new viewing platform.

You can now get panoramic views across the Gébroulaz Glacier and all the way back to our chalets in Méribel 1600 from the comfort of a traditional ski resort deck chair. Bliss!

Beginners, if you want to take in the amazing views, but don’t fancy either of the red runs from the summit of Mont Vallon, jump back on the gondola for the return trip and you’ll be delivered to the top of a cruisy blue run that takes you back to Méribel-Mottaret.

Late night gondola rides in Méribel-Mottaret

It’s easy to get a little carried away after an exhilarating day's skiing and if you find yourself enjoying a few après late into the evening, the resort team have decided to extend the opening hours of one of Méribel’s most popular gondolas.

The Chalets gondola that connects Méribel-Mottaret and Hameau du Mottaret will now run until 11.30pm.

The gondola ride is a great way to see Mèribel from above at night. In good weather, the twinkling lights and moonlit mountains are a sight to behold.

What’s new at Ski Cuisine?

This is just a snapshot of the upgrades being made for the upcoming season. It’s fair to say the Méribel resort team don’t rest on their laurels. We’re looking forward to discovering more changes throughout the season, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

As for changes here at Ski Cuisine, we’ve got a few new faces in the team who are about to embark on their pre-season training. The new chalet menus are taking shape and once again our chefs’ imaginations never cease to amaze.

Check out our sample menus to get a taste of what you can expect from our talented in-chalet chefs.
